SOLAR WATER STORAGE TANK These storage tanks are insulated with 2 inches of urethane foam, which is a very good insulator. In an environment like a basement at 65 to 70 degrees Fahrenheit and an evening tank temperature of 100 degrees Fahrenheit, the temperature 10 hours later will have only dropped 2 degrees or less.
The tanks are made of stainless steel with the foam insulation and an outside of paineted galvanized steel. We have been to the factory where these tanks are being made and examined the welded seams and pronounced them to be of good quality.
They have one 3,000 watt, 220 volt electrical heater for supplemental heat when the sun hides behind the clouds for a few days.
They come in three versions, (1) no internal heat exchanger, (2) one internal copper tube heat exchanger and (3) two internal copper tube heat exchangers.
Prices are reasonable considering the high quality of these tanks.
