CONDO FOR SALE
In
spite of the ongoing political problems that plague Thailand,
especially down around Bangkok, Thailand is still one of the top
destinations for tourists, visiting Southeast Asia, and for good reason. Thailand
is a country,
which for the most part is secure and quite safe, especially outside the major cities, for those
who want to vacation there. It has beautiful beaches in the South and
nice cooler mountains in the North. The people are friendly and the
cost of living is comparatively inexpensive, particularly in the North,
up toward Myanmar (formerly Burma).
One of my favorite small towns in Northern Thailand is Chiang Rai. Chiang
Rai is about 495 miles North of Bangkok and is about 1200 feet above
sea level for cool clear air in the mountains, except during the dry
season in Spring when farmers burn the rice stubble, etc. Here the people are friendly, the cost of living modest and the pace of life just about right. You can have all the amenities of a larger city including good food and entertainment as well as use it as a starting point for sightseeing in the Northern Mountains.
English is widely spoken and it is not difficult to rent a small Honda or Yamaha automatic motor scooter and go where ever you want. The streets are safe and traffic not too wild like in Bangkok or Chiang Mai.
FOR SALE: A nice room on the sixth floor of the Chiang Rai Condotel. The Condotel is located right in town, but not right downtown, so there is less traffic and noise. A large outdoor food market is located within a few blocks of the Condotel, easily within walking or biking distance. The night market is in downtown far enough away so there is no noise or traffic, but close enough to be very convenient.
The
bus station is downtown and within walking distance of the Condotel. Buses come and go to and from all parts of the Kingdom. A
beautiful modern airport serves the community and a round trip ticket
on Thai Air Asia from Bangkok is only about US$100.
The room has a balcony looking out toward town. It is air conditioned and has a nice bath with a tub and shower combination and plenty of hot water. The room is nicely furnished with twin beds, vanity, clothing closet and various small cabinets and tables. Sheets, towels, pillows and even soap and TP are all there ... just waiting to invite you in for a stay. There is a nice clean pool to be enjoyed in the heat of the day. There is ample parking and security is very good, what with a guard on duty 24/7. Annual association fees are only about 6,000 Baht, or less than US$200, and now paid up through 2010.
We
recently remodeled the room, putting down new high quality floor tiles,
servicing the air conditioner, upgrading the plumbing fixtures and
cleaning and painting the room.

Please remember that for the most part foreigners cannot legally own property in Thailand except for condos. Hear, hear now, this is clearly straight out of the "good deal book"!
